My sweet friend Terri Merren issued the Ice Bucket Challenge to me yesterday and I accepted because I want to help raise awareness about ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. For me and everyone I went to school with, ALS has a face and a name. It is Kaki.
Our funny, talented, smart, and always entertaining friend Kaki passed away from ALS in March 2013 leaving behind family and friends who love and miss her every single day. While it is too late for our friend, please help us bring more visibility and funding to ALS research. We need a cure. Here's my challenge to my amazing friend (and Kaki's lifelong friend), singer-songwriter Beth Thornley, my sweet friends and Nashville country stars John & Jacob, and of course, my best friend from Food Network Star, Justin Warner. I stopped in to visit with Kaki during my Alabama Road Trip 2012, right after my season on Food Network Star. I was tickled to hear that she followed along, watching all the episodes each week!
